Retrieval of Critical Components
The cockpit voice recorder and information unit were retrieved, and the engine was located on the runway.
The units – referred to as black boxes – were constructed to survive collision damage and severe temperatures from blazes, and they appeared to be intact when located within the crash debris. Officials plan on reviewing data from the devices.
Aircraft’s final flight details showed an altitude of 475 feet and a velocity of that speed before the crash.
