David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.

The comedian

Acclaimed children's author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the firm stated: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the move was taken subsequent to an investigation into claims about inappropriate behaviour directed at young women.

The company declined to specify the reasons for its decision, stating: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

He has published in excess of 40 works in total, which features a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.

He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
