Chiefs Acknowledge Alleged Abuse Claims Involving Player Rashee Rice
The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment Wednesday night confirming they are aware of claims of abuse circulated in online accounts by a ex-partner of wide receiver Rashee Rice and had been in communication with the league office.
The team did not mention Rice specifically in their announcement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.
Allegations Posted on Social Media
The woman, who likewise did not name Rice directly, shared a series of photos on Instagram that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. She stated the person involved was the parent of her kids, and it is known she has two children with the football player, whom the team selected in the 2023 draft.

No police reports were available in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Player's Recent Off-Field Troubles
The receiver missed the first six games of this NFL campaign following an NFL suspension for his involvement in instigating a crash on a Dallas highway that left several individuals hurt. He was given a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to felony charges.
On the field, Rice finished the season with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs finished with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first time in a ten-year span.
