American-Palestinian Teenager Released Following 270 Days in Israel's Custody

A American-Palestinian adolescent who spent nine months in Israel's custody without being charged was released.
The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 when he was arrested in February in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, during a family visit while residing in Florida under suspicion of rock throwing against settlement residents, allegations he repeatedly contested.
American diplomatic officials applauded the teenager's freedom.
Currently aged sixteen, required hospitalization for treatment immediately after release, family members reported.
Family described him as showing signs of malnutrition, while battling health issues developed during imprisonment.
In a statement, the youth's uncle expressed the family's "overwhelming sense of relief".
The uncle, Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "enduring a dreadful, continuous nightmare" throughout the past nine months.
"Currently, our priority is ensuring Mohammed receives the immediate medical attention necessary for his recovery following exposure to Israel's abuse and brutal treatment for months."
The state department announced ongoing to extend consular services for the Ibrahim family.
{"The Trump Administration considers paramount to ensuring the safety of American nationals"," officials stated.
Several congressional representatives endorsed a document to diplomatic officials and the administration, requesting additional efforts for his freedom.
The father, parent of four children who runs an ice cream business from Florida, had earlier stated Mohammed acknowledged allegations about rock throwing due to physical abuse.
The father hadn't visited or spoken to Mohammed since the arrest, and only heard regarding the treatment via legal paperwork.
He stayed lacking indictment at Ofer detention facility in the West Bank.
The facility also contains adult prisoners, some of whom have been convicted regarding severe security violations and homicide.
There are around 350 Palestinian child security detainees currently imprisoned in Israel, per correctional service statistics.
Numerous remain uncharged along with monitoring agencies, as well as the United Nations, document cases involving abuse and torture.
Subsequent to his liberation, family representatives announced they would maintain their efforts for justice for his cousin their cousin Sayfollah.
The dual national youth who the Palestinian health ministry said succumbed to assault by Israeli settlers following tensions last July.
Initially, military authorities reported officials were investigating information regarding a civilian had been killed.
Both young men had worked together at their family's ice cream business in Tampa, Florida.
No indictments occurred for the cousin's murder.
"We demand the American government to protect our families," Mr Kadur said.
